Community Participation
GHK in Pakistan has been very successful in mobilising and empowering communities to work towards their sustainable development. Community development is an organic process and encourages the formation of structured and unstructured groups or organisations to develop linkages with the private sector, civil society and government. This allows the communities to shape their development agenda (which is predominantly in the sectors of Education, Health, Environmental Infrastructure and Local Economic Development) based on inclusive local consultations. Hence, they become part of the decision-making processes and instrumental in determining sustainable human development.
